About the Gemini Group

Our History

The Plastics Division of the Gemini Group began in 1972 in Ubly, Michigan sewing seat-belts and blow molding seat belt covers for automotive customers in the US and Mexico. When the customers’ sewing operations moved to Mexico, the company searched out other opportunities to serve the automotive seating market and a profile extrusion plant was born. The Plastics Division later partnered with two local precision machining operations and an aluminum extrusion die company to form a manufacturing alliance.

Each company operated individually until 1996, at which time this diverse group of plastics and metals entities were joined under one parent company, Gemini Group, Incorporated. This diversification reflects the fundamental strength of our business and is valued by our domestic and international customer base.

Gemini Group is the largest employer in Huron County, Michigan, and currently operates four plastics plants and three metal plants. Our El Paso, Texas plant serves customers in the south including all of Texas and Mexico.
